A member of Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Lukman Olalekan Adeleye, has donated 50 electrical poles to Idowa and Imoro quarters in Odogbolu local government area of the state.
Adeleye, who is the Minority Leader in the State House of Assembly, said the move was to enhance electricity distribution and stimulate business growth in his constituency.
The handing over and commissioning ceremony, which marked the fulfillment of Hon. Adeleye’s promise to improve rural electricity infrastructure, took place at Sitalight Estate, with a promise to donate another 50 sets of electrical poles in the second phase of the programme.
Twenty electrical poles were distributed to three Community Development Areas: Sitalight Estate, Unit Estate, and Beautiful Estate within the Imoro Quarters.
Hon. Adeleye assured residents that the newly installed poles are of high quality and that the next phase will include fixing electrical wires to ensure swift restoration of power supply to the area
He expressed hope that the availability of electricity will boost production activities and aid businesses in the area, particularly during this challenging time.
Additionally, Hon. Adeleye announced plans to install 30 more electrical poles in other parts of Idowa soon, to further fulfill his promises to the community.
This project is part of his commitment to meeting the developmental needs of the people, following his visit to the area in 2022, where the community highlighted their challenges with rural electricity infrastructure.
Chief Mayowa Ogunpe, the Baale of Imoro Quarters, and Mr. Sunday Oretayo Oregbesan, Chairman of Sitalight Estate, expressed gratitude to Hon. Adeleye for the project, while also appealing for a new transformer to enhance power supply in the community.
