ABUJA – ONE of Nigeria’s energy services company, Obodofei Integrated Services Limited and the Nigeria Content Development Monitoring Board, NCDMB, move to partner on a gas processing and power plant project situated in Ogboloma Town, Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

The gas processing and power plant project owned by Obodofei Integrated Services Limited, is designed to process and utilize Nigeria’s abundant gas resources to meet the electricity demands by massively generating adequate electricity to Nigerians and businesses, generating jobs for the people, and boosting economic growth and development of Bayelsa State and the nation as a whole.

Meanwhile, both organisations had the meeting at the NCDMB’s headquarters in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, where both managements spoke on areas of mutual interest, cooperation and operations that would boost their partnership on the project.

Basically, the partnership between the two organisations is to ensure there is benefits for the oil and gas sector that would galvanize and promote local content development, job creation for the people, and boost economic growth and development.

The Obodofei’s delegation also had senior executives including its Managing Director, Hon. Ken Embele, while they were received by NCMD’s top functionaries.

Meanwhile, the Executive Director Policy and Implementation, Obodofei Integrated Services, Prof Steven Bassey, while making a presentation to the Board explained that, “The Gas Processing and Power Plant Project is designed to process and utilize Nigeria’s abundant gas resources to generate electricity, thereby contributing to the country’s economic growth and development of the state and country at large.

“The project aligns with the NCDMB’s mandate to promote and enforce the development of local content in the Nigerian oil and gas industry and the partnership with the NCDMB, Obodofei conglomerate aims to leverage the Board’s expertise and resources to enhance the project’s local content component.

“We are excited about the potential partnership with the NCDMB, This collaboration will enable us to tap into the Board’s wealth of experience and knowledge in local content development, thereby ensuring that our project meets the highest standards of local content compliance.”

The Executive Secretary, NCDMB, Engr Felix Ogbe, represented by the Director, Corporate Services Directorate, NCDMB, Dr Ama Ikuru FNC,KSC, said the effort and investment of the company is a welcomed development and needed in the nation’s oil and gas sector for more industrialisation, and also for the Bayelsa State economy to be taken to new heights.

Ogbe promised the Board’s support and partnership to enable the take-off of the project as the project’s potential and benefits are enormous to generate jobs and solve electricity challenges in the State and nation at large.
