Ex militant leaders under the aegis of Movement for the Actualization of the Dreams of Niger Deltans, MADND and commanders of defunct Movement for Actualization of Niger Delta, MEND, have pledged support for the government of President Bola Tinubu, lauding him for engaging Tantita Security Services Ltd to tackle oil theft in the Niger Delta region.

Leader of the group , Mr. Josiah Oyakonghan, (the Oyimi 1 of Niger Delta, aka: the People’s General) in a statement also spoke glowingly of governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State , Chief Government Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo and High Chief Favour O. Izoukumor of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, for their commitment to nation building.

The statement : “Obehalf of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Dreams of Niger Deltans (MADND) and Commanders of the defunct movement for the emancipation of the Niger Delta, a leading advocacy group for the development, peace and stability of the Niger Delta, to heartily wish all Nigerians, particularly, His Excellency, President Tinubu, Governor Oborevwori, my boss and father, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo otherwise known as Tompolo, High Chief Favour O. Izoukumor and his colleagues in DESOPADEC and Tantita Security Services Limited, being managed by an astute manager of resources and a philanthropist, barn one, High Chief (Engr) Kestin Pondi, a happy new year; whilst, thanking them for the moral leadership, which in our consensus view opinion is mostly needed in 2025 as the pathway to peace, stability, unity and abundance of prosperity.

“Of course, having being in the struggle in decades for the total economic emancipation of our people led by my Oga, Tompolo, I was full of nostalgia and, I indeed felt incredibly grateful and inspired to be acknowledged by our indefatigable leader; who is making us proud, High Chief Favour O. Izoukumor as the People’s General for the role I have played in keeping the peace and rebuilding a nation so fragmented and battered economically.

” In a strategic session with some of my friends we reaffirmed wholeheartedly to continuously support the administration of His Excellency, President Tinubu and thank him profusely for the moral and political support he has availed Tantita Security Services Limited for the protection of our national assets in putting Nigeria into the trajectory sustainable economic development.

“We also affirmed our total and unalloyed support to the Delta State Government under the amiable leadership of His Excellency, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi D. Guwor, our creek Reps, who have been impactful in their legislative duties at Abuja, Rt. Hon. Julius G. Pondi, Hon. (Chief) Thomas Ereyitomi: Burutu and Warri Federal Constituencies to continue charting the worthy cause in setting the bar of legislative governance.”

The group also warned against attack on Tompolo by those they called political jobbers and traducers.

“We will not condone anyone that will drag our boss’s name (Tompolo) to the mud, Tompolo has made enormous sacrifice for this country and our region, and it’s only wise to protect and support him in all he has done for peace, security and stability of this country”.
