AAO Foundation hosts 50 orphans, underprivileged children for New Year
In a heartwarming celebration of new beginnings, the Alex Alegieuno Omiogbemi (AAO) Foundation held its 4th annual Children’s New Year Party on January 1, 2025. This event, founded by Senior High Chief (SHC) Alex Omiogbemi, welcomed fifty orphaned and underprivileged children from various orphanages and underserved communities in Warri, Delta State.
The gathering took place at the generous residence of SHC Omiogbemi, transforming his home into a vibrant hub of joy, laughter, and community spirit from 2:00 PM to 6:30 PM.
The day was filled with a variety of playful activities and creative pursuits.
Children engaged in team-building games, dance competitions, bouncing castle play, amongst other fun activities. that stimulated their imaginations, and lively rounds of musical chairs that brought smiles and cheers.
The foundation catered to every child’s needs, providing a feast of tasty meals and refreshing drinks, ensuring that the festive atmosphere was matched by delightful culinary offerings.
Each child was gifted a package brimming with toys, educational books, and other learning materials, emphasizing the AAO Foundation’s commitment to supporting the children’s educational and recreational needs.
These gifts were not just tokens of fun but tools to aid in their learning and development.
A touching highlight of the event was the foundation’s scholarship program announcement. Among the beneficiaries was Edeifun Divine, a particularly inspiring young girl who lost her father when she was in primary one.
Upon her graduation from primary school, the AAO Foundation awarded her a full scholarship covering her education through to university, affirming the foundation’s dedication to making a lasting impact in the lives of these children.
Other scholarship recipients included Divine Monday, Efosa Glory, and Matthew Emmanuel, who received full scholarships for their secondary education.
Friends of SHC Alex Omiogbemi were in attendance, actively participating in the day’s events.
They played a hands-on role in distributing food and gift packs, ensuring every child felt personally welcomed and cherished. Their involvement underscored the community-oriented spirit of the foundation.
Adding a special familial touch, SHC Alex Omiogbemi’s daughters, Anosi and Angel Alex-Omiogbemi, were also present. They took a heartfelt initiative by presenting ‘hope cards’ to the orphans.
These cards were carefully crafted with words of love and encouragement, personally written by Anosi and Angel. Their messages aimed to inspire confidence and a sense of belonging among the children, making the event even more meaningful.
Mr Zion Oshiobugie who leds projects for AAO foundation stated that “This annual New Year party is a cornerstone of our foundation’s mission,”. “It’s about more than just a day of celebration; it’s about planting seeds of hope and opportunity in these young minds.
