OSOGBO: As Fountain University, Osogbo, Osun State graduates 346 students, sixteen of the graduating set bagged First Class Degrees in their various courses of study.
The Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Ramota Karim, during the press briefing to herald the 14th convocation held at the institution campus, also enumerated the various academic and infrastructural development the university achieved within the academic session.
According to her, “For the 14th convocation, our university celebrates the academic accomplishments of 346 graduates across sub-degree, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels.
“The university will confer diplomas, first degrees, and higher degrees as follows: 315 First Degrees, with 16 achieving First-Class Honours, 105 earning Second Class Upper Division, 120 attaining Second Class Lower Division, and 37 securing Third Class.
“For the B.N.Sc. Nursing Science programme, we proudly recognize two graduates with Distinctions, 33 with Credit, and three with Pass grades.”
Speaking about staff welfare, she disclosed that the university has concluded plans to begin the implementation of the national minimum wage for its workers, saying the decision would not affect fees payable by students of the institution.
“The fund would come from the various business ventures of the University, as well as the various grants it attracted which come with infrastructure development plan, as well as the welfare packages. We will not put the load on students through fee increment”, she added.
