ABUJA – The governing council of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has approved the immortalization of the late Dr. Yusufu Bala Usman, the late Prof. Abdullahi Mahadi, and the late Prof. Ezzeldin Mukhtar Abdulrahman.

This decision, made during the 205th regular meeting of the council, is in recognition of their immense contributions to the development of the university and the nation at large.

According to a statement on Wednesday, the council resolved to name university facilities after the three distinguished figures as a lasting tribute to their legacies.

The approval followed a recommendation by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kabir Bala, who advocated for the immortalization of these prominent scholars in recognition of their intellectual, academic, and national impact.

In his remarks, Prof. Bala highlighted the importance of the trio’s work in shaping the university and their broader contributions to Nigeria’s educational and intellectual landscape.
