The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has successfully conducted the mandatory annual verification exercise on a frontline opposition party , Action Alliance, AA,in a bid to ascertain the true status of all political parties .
The verification exercise was pursuant to Paragraph 15(C) of the Third Schedule of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 as amended .
The national chairman of AA, Chief Kenneth Udeze, in a statement, explained that the annual verification was to ensure that Action Alliance is in compliance with statutory requirements for it continued existence as a registered political party is Nigeria.
Chief Udeze told the INEC team led by Mrs Bibian Onyejike that the party remains a viable opposition ,working assiduously to reposition itself for greater electoral fortunes in 2027.
According to him ,AA during the exercise and in compliance with the law, presented all the requirements to the commission verification team.
The successful conduct of the exercise at the party headquarters in Abuja, occupied by Chief Udeze-led National Working Committee,NWC, has further confirmed Chief Kenneth Udeze as the authentic national chairman of AA.
“It has also confirmed that AA is in the safe hands of Chief Barr Kenneth Udeze- led National Executive Committee, NEC, of the party.
“All party faithful across Nigeria and beyond, including well meaning Nigerians are urged to have absolute trust and confidence in Chief Barr Kenneth Udeze-led National Executive Committee,NEC of the party,”the statement said.
