…Inaugurates 14km Road Project in Rivers
…Fubara Hails Judiciary as the Last Hope of the Common Man

Governor of Bauchi State and Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum, Senator Bala Mohammed, admitted he initially underestimated the leadership capacity of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
Speaking during the inauguration of a 14.1-kilometer road project in Rivers State, Governor Bala lauded Fubara’s ability to govern effectively despite political crises and opposition.
“My day is made being here amidst the hope for Nigeria—a hope symbolized by the good governance established here,” Bala said. He described Fubara as “simple, sincere, polite, and a performer per excellence,” while apologizing for doubting his resilience and leadership.
Bala commended Fubara for maintaining focus on development in the face of distractions, noting that he observed the positive impact of the new road project. He also praised the governor’s inclusive governance style, which he said demonstrated humility and faith in the judiciary.
“We, in the PDP, have chosen not to resort to baseless criticisms,” Bala remarked, contrasting the PDP’s approach with what he described as arrogance and impunity by those in power. He further urged leaders to know when to step aside gracefully, without sabotaging successors.
Governor Bala also used the occasion to address the Federal Government, advising President Bola Tinubu to focus on governance and remove unproductive elements from his administration.
“There are bad eggs in your cabinet causing more harm than good,” Bala stated. He added, “We pray for our leaders because their success ensures the success of the nation. But you must act decisively to relieve those who hinder your progress.”
In his remarks, Governor Fubara reiterated his confidence in the judiciary as the last hope for justice and fairness. He urged Nigerians to remain optimistic despite recent challenges, highlighting the judiciary’s role in upholding democracy.
Fubara spoke at the inauguration of the 14.1-kilometer Umuakali-Eberi-Omodu Road in Omuma Local Government Area, a project he described as transformative for the region.
“This road is vital, connecting communities within Omuma and neighboring Abia State,” Fubara said. He noted that the area had been neglected for years but assured residents that his administration’s initiatives would bring lasting development.
Governor Fubara criticized political opponents who celebrated perceived setbacks to his administration, emphasizing that his focus remained on delivering results for Rivers State.
“When they thought we were being emasculated, we quietly worked,” Fubara said. “This road project is just one example of the transformation we are achieving across communities.”
He added that the road would not only improve connectivity but also serve as a springboard for further development in the region.
“We must tell our story and showcase the progress we’ve made because governance is about serving the people,” Fubara concluded.
The newly inaugurated road and other ongoing projects across Rivers State reflect the administration’s commitment to improving infrastructure and fostering socio-economic growth.
