Gov Alia sacks adviser on LG and Chieftaincy Affairs, appoints Denen Aondoakaa

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has relieved Dr. Dennis Akura of his position as Special Adviser for the Bureau of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, appointing Mr. Denen Aondoakaa as his replacement with immediate effect.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, disclosed that Dr. Akura has been reassigned as the Special Adviser on Financial and Economic Strategy, Planning, and Development.

The statement read:

**“The Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dr. Dennis Akura, has been given another appointment by the State Governor to serve as Special Adviser on Financial and Economic Strategy, Planning, and Development with immediate effect.

“Mr. Denen Aondoakaa has been appointed to take over the Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs immediately as Special Adviser.”**

Mr. Denen Aondoakaa, a former banker, served as a Senior Special Assistant to the Governor before this new appointment.
