Comrade Daniel Onjeh, the candidate of the APC for the Benue South Senatorial District in the 2023 Elections, has wished all Nigerians a joyous Christmas and a prosperous New Year. In a statement issued to the press, Comrade Onjeh prayed that this season brings love, peace, and hope to the nation.

Comrade Onjeh, a former Chairman of the Governing Board of PRODA Enugu, stated, “At this time of celebration, I am deeply concerned about those who cannot afford a meal, let alone a festive feast.” The harsh economic climate, he noted with concern, has made daily life a struggle for many. He acknowledged the efforts of the federal and state governments to alleviate suffering but also recognized that their support cannot reach everyone.

“In the face of these challenges,” he said, “I urge you all to find solace in the true essence of Christmas.” He stated that this celebration is not just about physical sustenance, but about the spiritual nourishment that comes from commemorating the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Comrade Onjeh urged Nigerians to focus on the significance of Christ’s birth and the salvation it brings. “Let us celebrate with humility, gratitude, and contentment,” he stated. He reminded Nigerians that they don’t need a lavish feast to celebrate Christ’s birth. “A simple meal with loved ones,” he added, “be it cassava, yam, or gari, can be a meaningful way to mark this special day.”

Addressing young people, he offered these words of encouragement: “If this Christmas is not as you had hoped, do not despair. There will be many more opportunities to celebrate in the years to come.” He implored Nigerian youths to approach this season with purity of heart and true intention, avoiding negative acts and behaviours that can lead to harm.

In conclusion, he prayed that God may bless Nigeria and all its citizens this Christmas and that we may emerge stronger, more united, and more compassionate in the coming year.
