Tasks could include singing a Christmas song or answering a trivia question. The final layer contains the gift, making it exciting for everyone.
Christmas Scavenger Hunt
Hide Christmas-themed items like ornaments, candy canes, or small gifts around the house or compound. Create clues or a list to help players find them.
You can include items like chin chin packs, small toys, or even traditional items like cowrie shells. The person or team with the most items wins a prize.
Musical Chairs (with Christmas Songs)
Musical chairs is a favourite from Nigerian childhood parties, and adding Christmas songs makes it even better. Arrange chairs in a circle, one less than the number of players. Players walk around the chairs as music plays, scrambling to find a seat when the music stops. The last person seated wins, but the frantic scramble is the real fun.
Guess the Christmas Song
Split into teams and hum or whistle popular Christmas songs while the other team guesses. This game brings out everyone’s musical skills and creates hilarious moments when someone completely murders a tune.
Christmas Quiz
Put together a quiz about Christmas traditions, food, and culture. Some example questions:
What is a common Christmas Day dish in Nigeria?
What date is Boxing Day celebrated?
Name a popular Nigerian Christmas song.
This game is fun and educational, letting everyone learn something new about their culture.
The Wrapping Paper Relay
Divide the family into teams and give each team a box, wrapping paper, scissors, and tape. The catch? Each person can only use one hand. Teams must wrap the box as neatly and quickly as possible.
This game encourages teamwork and brings plenty of laughs as everyone struggles with the one-hand rule. The team with the best-wrapped box wins.
