The Nigerian Female Students Association (NFSAN), has called for unity and collaboration among its members to further the association’s mission in Osun State.
The call, followed the first-ever state convention of the group on November 11, which marked a significant milestone for the organisation with the election of new executives and the dissolution of the outgoing leadership.
Convention Planning Committee Chairperson, Comrade Abdullateef Habeebat Ajoke, emphasised the importance of solidarity during her address at the convention.
She urged all members to support the newly elected executives as they embark on their leadership journey.
“It is crucial that we come together as one body to advance our goals and empower female students in our state,” she stated.
The outgoing executives were recognised for their dedication and hard work, and their successful collaboration with the CPC was highlighted as a key factor in the event’s success.
As the new leaders prepare to take office, the association is focused on maintaining the momentum built by their predecessors.
Meanwhile, the handover process is set to take place by November 19, with the outgoing executives tasked with transferring all association assets and documents to the new leadership. An inauguration ceremony for the new executives is also scheduled for that date.
In addition to fostering internal unity, NFSAN has taken steps to strengthen its relationship with government and security officials in Osun State.
Copies of the convention’s outcomes have been sent to key stakeholders, including the Senior Special Assistant on Student Matters to the Executive Governor; the Osun State Commissioner of Police, and the Director of the Department of State Services.
This outreach, according to the group, aimed to create a supportive framework for female students and enhance collaboration with governmental bodies.
