New industry-led Master's programmes launched in Ireland

One of Ireland’s leading higher education institution with low tuition fees, Dundalk Institute of Technology, DKIT, has introduced new master’s programmes for international students, commencing in September 2025 academic year.

DKIT, which operates a global campus with international students from over 40 countries – the only institute of technology in the country – announced the new programmes which have been developed in conjunction with the industry at the recent launch of its application portal for 2025 academic year.

The new master’s programmes include both normal and structured masters in the areas of computing, business, as well as arts. The courses are now part of over 70 industry-focused bachelor’s degree and master’s programmes run by the institute.

In a statement announcing the new courses, DKIT international student recruitment manager, Maire Gallen, said: “We have structured Masters programmes.

“The structured Master’s consists of two semesters of teaching and a year-long research project.

“The structured Master’s has a stronger focus on research in comparison to the normal full time taught Master’s.”

The programmes

The new programmes, according to Gallen include, Master of Science in Data Analytics (Structured), Master of Science in Computing in Medical Device Software Engineering, and Master of Business Studies in Strategic Data Analytics for Business.

Others are Master of Arts in Leadership, Management and Innovation for Social Care, Master of Arts in Tourism and Heritage Management (Structured), as well as Master of Science in Management (Structured).

In addition to the new masters courses, Gallen added, Dundalk Institute of Technology (DKIT) is also running their very successful programmes in the 2025/26 academic session.

They include Master of Science in Agricultural Biotechnology, MBS in Entrepreneurship and Marketing, and Master of Science in Data Analytics.

DKIT also runs a postgraduate diploma in Renewable Energy Systems which can lead to the MSc in Renewable Energy, as well as Higher Diploma in Business – a conversion course for only degree graduates.

Dundalk Institute of Technology (DKIT) which currently has strong variety of undergraduate courses also added new three and four year undergraduate programmes. They include, BA Hons in Audio Development, BA Hons in Music & Performance Technologies, BA Hons in Sound Design, BA (Hons) in International Tourism Management, BA (Hons) in Event Management with Marketing, and BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying.

DKIT also runs an International Foundation Programme or pre-degree for students who do not meet the requirement for year one entry.

Internationals students attending university at Dundalk Institute of Technology (DKIT) can expect to pay one of the lowest tuition fees in Ireland.

Gallen said: “Students for International Foundation Programme pay €7,250 while undergraduates and masters students pay €10,950 and €12,000, respectively.
