Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa has ordered the immediate reinstatement of the suspended Commissioner for Special Duties, Auwalu Danladi Sankara.
The development follows his acquittal by the Upper Shariah Court in Kano, which cleared him of the allegation of enticing a married woman, Tasleem Baba Nabegu, on Monday.
The reinstatement was contained in a statement on Tuesday by the Secretary to the Government, (SSG) Malam Bala Ibrahim.
Sankara was suspended last month in the wake of an allegation of enticing a married woman, Tasleem Baba Nabegu, in an uncompleted building in Kano, following a complaint by her husband.
Namadi had on October 20 ordered Sankara’s suspension following an allegation by the Kano Hisbah Board that he (Sankara) was allegedly caught in a compromising position with a married woman.
Ibrahim, who chaired the state government probe panel on the allegation, said the suspension was to allow for an unfettered investigation into the allegation made by the Kano State Hisbah Board.
It would be recalled that Sankara was on October 19 arrested in an uncompleted building in the company of a married woman.
The Director-General of the Board, Abba Sufi, had in a statement said the suspended commissioner’s arrest followed a complaint by the woman’s husband, accusing Sankara of improper conduct.
