The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, ICAN Lekki and District Society have concluded Catch Them Young, CTY Competition organized with a view to promoting exceptional talent, teamwork, and sportsmanship among students.
The district, in a statement said it confirmed two students each from four schools to participate in the competition to showcase their skills and creativity.
In his remark, CTY Coordinator, Lekki and ICAN District Society, Bamishe Omotayo, said that the student through the competition have learned how crucial effective teamwork and communication can be in achieving success; encouraging creativity and out-of-the-box thinking is essential.
He said that they have been able to learn that building confidence and resilience in students is vital.
Meanwhile, Chairman, ICAN LEDS, Olufunmilayo Olaniyi, said some of the objectives of organising the competition were to identify and nurture young talent; foster teamwork and collaboration; and promote healthy competition and sportsmanship.
Olaniyi said: “The CTY competition was a resounding success, showcasing exceptional talent and teamwork among students. We congratulate the winners and participants on their achievements.”
The Lagoon School emerged as the winner, followed by Debiruss School as first runner up and Kayron International School; second runner, while the special awards went to Kayron International School who was host School for the award.
The organiser pointed out that one of the criteria for assessing and judging the student was their problem-solving skills.
