Former Nigerian military President, Ibrahim Babangida

Former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, has expressed his condolences to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the entire nation following the death of Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja.
In his message, General Babangida described the death of the late Army Chief as a profound loss, not only to his immediate family but also to the entire country. He praised the late General Lagbaja as a distinguished officer and a dedicated leader whose patriotism was exemplary.
“His vigorous efforts on the frontline in the fight against banditry and insurgency have already begun to yield positive results, and it is unfortunate that he will not be around to see these efforts fully realized,” Babangida remarked.
A statement from the media office of the former Military President conveyed his sympathy to General Lagbaja’s family, his officers, and the Nigerian military. Babangida prayed that the late General’s soul rests in peace.
He also commended the Nigerian Armed Forces for their continued sacrifices in safeguarding the nation’s democracy, territorial integrity, and safety, acknowledging their courage and dedication to the nation’s security.
