…as host community assures support

ABUJA- A firm called Obodofei Integrated Services Limited, disclosed commencement of preliminary works with the clearing of the site for construction of its gas processing and power plant project located in Ogboloma Town, Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

This was made known by the Director, Procurement, Obodofei Integrated Services Limited, High Chief Ebizimor Raphael, while conducting an inspection of the ongoing job at the site.

Raphael who was accompanied by his team and some host community members, said the preliminary works flags off the main construction of the gas processing and power plant facilities, which he described as a milestone that marks a significant step towards the realization of the project conceived to meet the demands of the product, and also create massive direct and indirect jobs for the people and over growth and development of the economy in the Niger Delta region in few years to come as the project serves as a catalyst to that effect as it will attract other companies to the region.

He said: “We at Obodofei Integrated Services Limited, are very excited with this preliminary work with the ongoing clearing of the site we have commenced for the construction of our gas processing and power plant project located in Ogboloma Town, Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

“It is a legacy project that would metamorphose into greater development of Bayelsa State and the entire Niger Delta region, which would contribute hugely to the Gross Domestic Product, GDP, of the economy.

“This project is designed to harness the rich gas resources in the area, process them, and generate electricity for industrial and domestic uses.

“The project is expected to create jobs, stimulate economic activity, and improve the quality of life for the people of Bayelsa State and the entire Niger Delta region.”

Meanwhile, according to him, the company recently signed the Gas Purchase and Sales Agreement with Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Gas Marketing Limited, NNPCGML a subsidiary of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation NNPC, to develop a state-of-the-art gas processing and power plant project in Bayelsa State.

He also maintained that Obodofei Integrated Services Limited is committed to delivering the project on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The company is working closely with local stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and technical experts to ensure the successful execution of the project.

Also, members of the host community led by Gigi Woyengitariseigha Obed, Moseind Chairman; Chief Gigi Cleansing, Ogboloma Community Chief; and Oweifa Saviour, Landlords/Family Rep, lauded the project and welcomed it, therefore, they assured that the project would be supported and ensure its timely completion, because it would bring about human, social and economic development to them.
