Dr. Imafidon Osama Agbonile has been reappointed as Medical Director for a second tenure. In a significant development for the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital (FNPH) in Benin City. The appointment letter was presented to him today, Monday, by outgoing Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Tunji Alausa, following approval from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Dr. Agbonile’s reappointment, which took effect from October 2, 2024, marks the continuation of his leadership at the hospital.

Under his previous tenure, he championed numerous initiatives aimed at enhancing the hospital’s infrastructure, patient care standards, and staff welfare, earning him accolades from within the hospital community and beyond.

The Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Benin City, established in 1964, is a federal government specialty hospital located in Benin, Edo State, Nigeria ¹. As Medical Director, Dr. Agbonile will continue to lead the hospital towards its vision of providing world-class mental and general healthcare services.

Dr. Agbonile has expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the renewed mandate and promised to remain committed to his vision of expanding and modernizing the hospital’s services to meet global standards.
