ENUGU- NO less than 90 youths, during the weekend, passed out from training on renewable energy installation and maintenance in Enugu.

Sponsored by the member representing Enugu North/Enugu South federal constitrncy in the House of Representatives, Hon Chimaobi Atu, the youths were given both theories and practical trainings on the soft and hardware functions of solar energy production, installation and maintenance.

The lawmaker, in collaboration with the National Power Training Institute of Nigeria, NAPTIN, conducted the intensive solar photovoltaic Installer Certificate Course aimed at providing certification to all trainees.

Addressing the trainees, Rep. Atu highlighted the importance of making the best out of the programme and ensuring that the knowledge gained is not wasted.

He stated that the knowledge gathered, if properly utilized, would empower the participants, their family members, and society at large for generations to come, adding that it would be a disservice to God and man if anyone refused to make the best use of the knowledge.

“I feel very fulfilled that this training took place and that a lot of people in my constituency benefited. It is left for you to upgrade the knowledge and maximize it judiciously. This is a lifetime opportunity aimed at giving the youth an alternative economic emancipation knowledge that will enhance their growth.

“When you make good use of what you have learned, you will solve your problem, that of your family, and also help your family solve societal problems. This is a generational economic emancipation programme, and it would be a disservice to God and man if you allow this knowledge to go to waste.

“A lot of resources were committed to ensure that it was very smooth and stress-free. I would want to hear that one of you is among the best in the service and installation of renewable energy in a few years’ time,” Atu mentored.

The Director-General of NAPTIN, Alhaji Ahmed Bolaji Nagode, who was represented by the Assistant Chief Instructor, Engr. Lemi Jonathan, thanked Rep. Atu for thinking home.

He stated that the amount of resources and sacrifices made to get the training done shows how committed the lawmaker is in his quest to improve the living standards of his constituents.

Participants also expressed their joy over such a golden opportunity, with promises of doing their best to excel.

The event also featured the issuance of certificates to the participants, along with cash awards and starter kits.
