Weep no more, by Funmi Komolafe

Weep no more, by Funmi Komolafe

Brethren, year 2024 is moving closer to an end.  As Christians we also need visualize   the end of whatever challenge we have.

When the year ends, celebration follows. In the same vein, when a challenge is subdued, messages of congratulations begin to pour in.

However, unlike the year, challenges are either of physical or spiritual origin.  The physical we thank God for giving us knowledge through medical science to be able to deal with it and over come.

Even that is not easy. It comes with a cost sometimes draining one’s purse.

You don’t believe? Ask those that had babies through In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) and other medical procedure aimed at conception. Beyond medical science is the Almighty God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth that can wipe out any challenge be it barrenness, illness, stagnation, etc.

He is the God of all flesh.  The confirmation of this statement is found in Jeremiah 32 vs. 27: “ Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?

Even if your answer is that you believe nothing is too hard for Him, it doesn’t happen by magic or an electronic button.

Brethren, there are paths to a miracle.  Are you prepared to walk that path with the greatest companion, the Lord Jesus?

We are made of spirit, blood and flesh   so naturally at a time like this, when the year is winding down, one may begin to feel a bit depressed. Especially   if our expectations have not been met.    Some people come to the conclusion that what hasn’t manifested in the last nine months, is unlikely to manifest in the remaining three months of the year.

How wrong can that be?

The first condition needed to become an overcomer is Faith.

Jesus said, in Mark 11 vs. 22-24: “ And Jesus answering saith unto  them, Have faith in God.

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea’ and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Therefore, I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them”.

Brethren, what ever you wish to have and you have taken steps to have but your efforts have not produced any result, is a mountain. It is an obstacle to your progress and first key that you need to overcome is Faith. According to our Lord Jesus.

Many are   likely to say, I pray so I have faith but the question is what is the level of your faith?   Anyone that claims to believe and expresses doubts even occasionally is not a full Believer.

As human beings, we tend to jump to the conclusion that since, we have prayed, fasted, worshipped God and the miracle isn’t manifesting, God might have forgotten.

Yet God is not a man that can forget though he created man in his own image as stated in the Holy Bible.   Genesis1 vs. 27 ( NIV) : “ So God created mankind in his own  image, in  the image of God he created them; male and female  he created them”.

Brethren, you need to ask yourself if you are making enough efforts for God to remember you.

When God remembers, He visits. When we think that God has remembered us, he has actually visited and  the result is usually a  celebration.

My prayer for you this season is that God will visit you .

Let’s have a look at a man and a woman that God visited.  What did they do for God to visit them?

Hezekiah was a man like you and I who thought that God had forgotten him when he was sick.

2nd Kings 20 vs. 1: “ In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death.   And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order; for thou shall die, and not live”.

Hezekiah as a king must have seen several doctors   but he remained sick.  As if that wasn’t enough, the man of God, came to confirm his fears that the sickness would take his life.

Perhaps someone reading this has been diagnosed with a terminal ailment or a woman has been told that her chances of getting pregnant is zero because she isn’t ovulating and therefore has no chance of conception.

For anyone  in  a similar situation, such a person can take a cue from what King Hezekiah

Verses 2 &3 complete the story. “ The he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the LORD, saying, I beseech thee, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight.  Hezekiah wept sore”.

Note that while presenting his case, he wept sore.  In other words, he poured out his heart unto the LORD.

In the case of Hannah, the Bible states in 1st Samuel 1 vs. “ And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the LORD, and wept sore”.   Note also that she “ wept sore”.

To weep sore is to pour out your heart telling it all to the Lord what you desire and perhaps why you deserve it.  It is a no holds bar communication with the Almighty God. So what happened in   both  cases ?2nd  Kings  20 vs,  4-6  completes the story of King Hezekiah .

“ And it came to pass, afore Isaiah was gone out into the middle court,  that the word of the LORD came  to him saying, Turn again, and tell Hezekiah  the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house  of the LORD.

And I will add unto thy days fifteen  years; and I will deliver thee and this  city  out of the hand  of the King of Assyria; and I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.”.

In the case of Hannah, let’s see how God reacted to her weeping and prayer.   Note that both of them prayed.

Verse 19 ….. and Elkanah knew Hannah  his wife; and the LORD remembered her.”  She had Samuel but after Samuel, God blessed her  with other  her.

1st Samuel 2 vs. 21 : “And the LORD visited Hannah, so that she conceived, and bare three sons and two daughters. And the child Samuel  grew before the LORD”.

Both Hezekiah and Hannah got more than they expected when the LORD visited them.

A time of remembrance is the same as the time of the visitation of the LORD.

Before this year ends, may the LORD visit you in Jesus name.

I’ll share with  you the testimony of a lady,   at the just concluded Holy Ghost Congress of R.C.C.G.  held last week.

She got married in 2019 and she had been praying and telling God that  her  home is too quite.  She gave God of the reasons for which she wanted biological children.  She told God in prayer that she would like to have a home filled with the noise of her children.

According to her, during ministration in September 2022 Holy Ghost Night,  a  special programme for women waiting on the Lord for children, Daddy G.O. said there was someone that   has told God that her house is  too quite and the Lord said he would bring noise into it. She claimed the word and God  blessed  her with a baby in 2023.

Brethren, from her testimony she has  been weeping in her house and praying .   What if she hadn’t attended that particular programme, she would have missed her word.

God that had seen her tears released a word for her and she claimed it.

To claim a word is to first believe it is for you, believe it would work for you and  intensify prayers for the fulfillment of the Word.

Today, the woman that wanted the noise of a baby in her house, now testifies to the  joyful noise  of a baby as a result of the visitation of the Lord.

Brethren, may I remind you of the special programme for couples waiting on the Lord holding today at Laughter Foundation Ministry of Kudirat Abiola Way, Ojota Lagos.

Attend with faith and see what the LORD would do.

Tears of sorrow would soon give way to tears of joy in your home. The expiry date of that challenge is nearer than you can imagine. Shalom!
