As the November 2024 governorship polls approach, Ondo State is poised for a transformative leadership under Otunba Bamidele Akingboye, the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

A former governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Otunba Akingboye is driven by a non-negotiable dream of creating wealth for citizens of the state.

With years of entrepreneurial expertise, Otunba Akingboye boasts traceable indices of growth. “I have been an entrepreneur for many years. I know how to create wealth and I’m an exceptionable manager of people,” he confidently asserts. His 10-point agenda prioritises infrastructure, education, technology, agriculture, security, and research and development, aiming to end suffering in the state.

As a Chartered Accountant (UK) and Certified Fraud Examiner (USA), Otunba Akingboye’s professional qualifications and awards demonstrate his capacity to move the state forward. An alumnus of Lagos Business School and Harvard Business School, he envisions Ondo State as a hub for innovation and technology.

Otunba Akingboye vows to “usher in a new social contract between the government and the public – one that is founded on transparent, prudent and selfless service.” His mission is to make Ondo one of the top three economies in the Western region and top ten in the nation.

Ways he seeks to achieve the goals include through the restoration of quality education via provision of accessible learning opportunities; ensuring stable power supply to drive economic growth and the development of infrastructure that aligns with visions of a top investment destination.

Among his top agenda is the need to secure the erstwhile porous borders that has opened the state up to invasion by herdsmen and bandits, as he strives to ensure safe communities.

The place of science and technology, and the youths cannot be gainsayed.

Otunba Akingboye recognises the youths as central to provision of change. He plans to establish coding boot camps, advanced technology centres, and community digital hubs with free Wi-Fi hotspots and charging stations, amid other innovative solutions that will make for growth and the development across the entire state.
