…set up elders council to evolve winning ways

Members of the PRIMROSE Movement considered as foremost founding members of Lagos Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, led by Chief Dapo Sarumi, have aligned with prominent elders of the party loyal to the Governorship Candidate of the party in the 2023 general elections, Olajide Adediran popularly called Jandor and the loyalists of the Deputy National Secretary, Setonji Koshoedo to revive the party in the state.

The members of the movement reached the accord at the weekend, along with other prominent elders of the party at Ikeja, Lagos, to establish the Lagos PDP Elders Council with the primary responsibility of giving direction to the party.

According to Jandor, Media Aide, Gbenga Ogunleye, members of the Elders Council appointed include: Chief Taiwo Kuye and Shamsudeen Arobieke, as Coordinator and Administrative Secretary, respectively, while C. O. Oshoba, Arilesere, Pa. Shakiru Oladunjoye, K. Mohammed, among other party elders will serve as trustees.

Members of the newly established Lagos PDP Elders Council, who expressed their reservation over the current situation of the party, pledged to revive the vision of the founding fathers of the party in Lagos state among whom were; Sarunmi and Stephen Olukunle Bakare (Oluwalogbon Motors) to chart winning ways for the party in future elections.

The coordinator of the Lagos PDP Elders Council, Kuye decried the incessant inability of the party to efficiently offer herself as the leading opposition party and the credible alternative to the ruling party.

He assured that the elders of the party across the state as represented in the newly established council will rallied other well meaning members of the party to synergize in serving as the conscience of the party.

Arilesere, a prominent leader of the Primose Movement, recalled on the history of the party and the aspirations of the founding members on how to lead Lagos State in the post military regime era.

He therefore, urged all members to embrace the politics of ideology rather than stomach infrastructure and pecuniary interest which are the motives of some politicians today.
