Abba Moro

The Senate Minority Leader, Senator Abba Moro has appealed to members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Benue state to remain calm and desist from actions and utterances that could further polarise the party in the state.
The appeal came against the backdrop of the recent crisis in the party over the recently held congresses which polarised the party along the lines of the Pro Samuel Ortom and Gabriel Suswam camps.
The Pro Suswam camp only few days ago convened a meeting of stakeholders where the leader of the group, Senator Gabriel Suswam lampooned the Damagum-led National Working Committee, NWC, of the party for failing in its responsibilities to dispassionately resolve the crisis in the state.
Senator Suswam had rewarned that his loyalists should not be treated as if they were stranded since there were other alternatives for aggrieved members.
Senator Moro who represents Benue South District in the Senate, in a statement Tuesday, by his Media Adviser, Emmanuel John, sued for peace “and asks everyone to be calming down and tone down on violent rhetorics that are capable of further polarizing the party.”
According to the Media Adviser, “Senator Moro charges members to be tolerant of one another, no matter the differences and appeals to all aggrieved persons to sheathe their swords and allow for robust discussions that will unify the party.
“He says leaders of the party in the state are working tirelessly towards resolving all teething issues in the aftermath of the party’s congresses with a view to addressing all grievances and restoring lasting peace.
“He says PDP remains the only credible alternative to the ruling party which has brought so much pains on Nigerians, and assures that the party will bounce back stronger and better, to reclaim its winning ways and provide the needed leadership,a new and better for the suffering masses.”
