The Nigerian Army Authority has awarded a scholarship to Nana-Fatima Bolori, a brilliant Borno State indigene, who excelled in the selection process.
Major General Waidi Shuaibu, Theatre Commander, Joint Task Force, Operation Hadin Kai, North-East, announced this on Thursday at Maimalari Cantonment in Maiduguri.
Shuaibu explained that the scholarship aims to strengthen civil-military relations and promote peace in the North-East through non-kinetic strategies.
According to him, the scholarship amounting to N500,000 will cover Bolori’s tuition fees, supporting her to pursue Degree in Law and academic success at her Institution of Choice (University of Maiduguri).
“Investing in education is crucial for national security and development,” he stressed.
To qualify, students must complete secondary school, pass JAMB, and gain university admission.
This initiative aligns with Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja’s vision to support high-performing orphans and recognise excellence in Nigerian public tertiary institutions.
An elated Nana-Fatima Bolori thanked the Nigerian Army, saying: “I am overwhelmed with gratitude. This scholarship is a lifeline, enabling me to pursue my dreams without financial burdens.”
Bolori praised the Army’s commitment to education and empowerment. “Your investment in my future inspires me to make a positive impact in my community.
“I dedicated this achievement to my parents and teachers. Their guidance and support have shaped me into the person I am today.” She added.
Bolori urged her peers to strive for academic excellence, as according to her, education is the key to unlocking people’s potential and building a brighter future.
