Kole Akintujoye,  Nigerian born American filmmaker and founder of Give Us Our Daily Bread (GUODB), a non-profit dedicated to combating hunger in Nigeria, has opened up about the inspiration behind establishing GUODB Cinematics.

The 42-year-old producer and CEO of GUODB Cinematics explained that the initiative was born out of a desire to not only engage the community but to create sustainable job opportunities through the GUODB Talent Group and Cinematics platform.

Akintujoye, who is also a writer, has a deep commitment to portraying authentic African stories through film. His vision for GUODB Cinematics is to empower local talent by providing employment while promoting African culture through storytelling. By using film as a medium, Akintujoye aims to shine a spotlight on the rich narratives and experiences that are often overlooked or underrepresented.

“We didn’t just want to focus on feeding people,” Akintujoye shared. “It was important to empower them in a way that could have lasting effects. Through GUODB Cinematics, we’re giving local talents a platform to showcase their abilities, while simultaneously telling stories that celebrate Africa’s unique heritage. It’s about creating a space for creative expression, all while driving economic growth. This isn’t just about making movies—it’s about making a difference in people’s lives, allowing them to take pride in their work and their culture.”

He continued, “Storytelling has always been a powerful tool for change. By producing films that highlight African experiences, we’re not only entertaining but also educating and uplifting communities. This effort complements our fight against hunger by addressing the need for economic empowerment and giving people a voice.”

This cinematic venture perfectly aligns with the larger mission of GUODB, addressing hunger while creating a cultural and economic impact through the medium of film.
