Actress and filmmaker, Titilola Ajayi has revealed the creative rationale behind featuring popular singer 9ice and other actors like Akin Lewis, Mide Martins, and Kemity in her latest project, Mr and Mrs Parker.

Ajayi explained that her decision to cast these notable figures stemmed from a desire to break away from conventional practices and explore new and exciting elements in her work.

“I just wanted something more than the regular. At times when one wants to do one’s casting, one just wants to try something new. I like to spread my wings and avoid being limited in my casting choices.

That’s why I reached out to Adigun (9ice). In all fairness, he read the script and got into character remarkably. It was also a pleasure working with Sir Akin Lewis, Mide Martins, Kemity, and others. They are all good at what they do and gave their best to the character”.

Ajayi elaborated on the thematic essence of the film, noting, “There’s a popular saying: ‘Don’t let them kill you, they will ask for forgiveness.’ In Mr and Mrs Parker, we are telling a story that reflects the reality that not every bad deed necessarily has immediate consequences. The film serves as a reminder to be cautious about whom one trusts and to be wary of two-faced individuals.”

Excited about expanding her reach, Ajayi also touched on her upcoming UK tour. “I’m thrilled about spreading my wings internationally,” she said. “It’s an opportunity to gain more international exposure, connect with an extended fanbase, and enjoy time with my fans in the diaspora.”
