Umo Eno signs amended Traditional Rulers Council Law

A former lawmaker, Otuekong Sunny Jackson Udoh has advised Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umoh Eno to show wisdom and magnanimity after his triumph at the Supreme Court last Thursday.

Governor Umo Eno has signed the amended Traditional Rulers Council Law, allowing the President-General position to rotate among Ibibio, Annang, and Oro ethnic groups. The law aims to promote equality and unity among the groups.

At a swearing-in ceremony for 11 newly recognized monarchs, Eno emphasized the importance of collaboration and peace. He urged traditional rulers to shun politics and divisive tendencies, instead focusing on uniting the state.

The governor announced the donation of Toyota Prado SUVs to four Paramount Rulers, demonstrating his administration’s commitment to their welfare.

Traditional leaders praised Eno’s inclusive leadership style and peaceful disposition. Oku Ibom Ibibio and President-General Ntenyin Solomon Etuk pledged to maintain their advisory role, promoting peace and unity.
