Rising singer, Sunkanmi was shocked recently when popular American rapper Snoop Dogg featured her song “Higher” on his Instagram page.

Delighted by the recognition, she shared her excitement with her fans in a heartfelt video posted on her own Instagram account, where she received an outpouring of congratulations from friends and followers.

In a chat with Potpouuri, she said: “I was completely blown away when I saw my song on Snoop Dogg’s Instagram page. It’s an incredible feeling to have a music legend, an icon, acknowledge my work. This is a dream come true for any artiste—to be recognized by someone they admire and respect. This feature has opened doors for me, introducing my music to a broader audience and adding credibility to my career. It’s a nod of approval from a respected figure, and I’m truly grateful for the opportunity.”

Talking about the need for artistes to be able to play music instruments, she said: “Playing a musical instrument has been instrumental in shaping my music. It allows me to express myself more authentically and bring my ideas to life. I can convey emotions and tell stories through melodies and harmonies, adding depth to my songs. My ability to play an instrument has also helped me connect with other musicians and collaborators, leading to exciting projects and opportunities”.
