Welcome to the ember months.   We give glory to God; it shall be a season to remember for good in Jesus name.

The first command that God gave man is to reproduce.  

Genesis 1 vs. 27 & 28 ( KJV) : “ So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.  And God blessed them, and God  said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion  over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth”.

So, God wants us to have children. 

This explains why  God attended to  barren women that cried to him for children and granted their requests.

Psalm 127 vs. 3 makes it clear what children mean to God.   It states, “ Lo children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward”.

When  a man and a woman get married, in this part of the world, they look forward to  having children to raise a family. 

The Holy Bible tells us in Psalm 128 vs.3:  “ Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine  by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table”.

Until children are found in a home, the family is incomplete.

However, several factors  are responsible for delay in child bearing .  They  could be physical or spiritual. Medical science is able to take care of physical obstacles  but only God can   deal with spiritual obstacles and physical issues.

Couples tend to first see delay in  child bearing as physical  hence they move from one specialist to another.  There is absolutely nothing wrong with that but medical science helps when God is involved.

Brethren, are you faced with child- bearing challenges, you need to turn to God that commanded you to go and “ multiply and replenish the earth”.

The state of barrenness  is a state of sorrow  but when a child is born,  Joy  comes into that home.

Psalm 113 vs. 9: “ He maketh the barren woman  to keep  house, and to be a joyful mother of children”.

I’ll share a testimony of a couple  waiting on the LORD to have children.

They both attended a church programme during which a word of knowledge was given that  there was a man  in the crowd  who has been diagnosed with zero sperm count.

The  man received the word  and immediately, his manhood received strength and he whispered to his wife, how he felt.

That night they met and the result was the confirmation of pregnancy  the following month.

It was a sudden miracle for them because they had spent a lot of money on treatment that didn’t produce any result.

The couple had been married for years without a single pregnancy result but they realized that the case  is spiritual  and turned to God.

By the Grace of God, this season, the Holy Spirit will direct you to   the right place   to receive your Word of breakthrough in Jesus name.

Brethren, the ember months, shouldn’t be used for lamentation.  Rather, it  should be used to cry unto God to remember us in any area that we need God’s intervention.

There are conditions that we need to fulfill for us to graduate from the waiting room.

Jesus said in John 15 vs. 5 : “ I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth  much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing”.

In other words, you need to have a relationship with the Lord for you to get his attention.

You may say, God created all human beings and he knows their needs. 

That is true but those that fail to cultivate a relationship with God, may not have his attention.

The question then is how, do you cultivate a relationship with Christ?. 

It begins  with giving your life to Christ .  Be  a  Christian in word and deed.  

Brethren, cast out of your mind thoughts  about the year going to an end.  For you, it is the beginning of a new beginning.

It is time to spend more time praying, worshipping and serving the LORD.

While waiting on the Lord for whatever we desire, be it children, marriage partner , promotion , healing etc.,  one of the conditions for  receiving from the LORD is keeping his commandments.

This is one area  in which many people fail.   Failure to keep his commandments,   as simple as it seems,  could be the  reason,  answers to prayers are delayed.

Deuteronomy  7 vs. 11: “ Thou  shalt therefore keep the commandments, and the statues, and the judgments, which I command  thee this day, to them”.

When we do His will, he will grant our requests.

This is affirmed in verse 14 of the same chapter.  It states: “ Thou shalt be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle”.

Brethren, age  is not a barrier when God is involved.

As the  year winds down, it is time to look up to the Lord to  turn what seems impossible to possibility  for you.

If there is anyone who should never get tired of praying, it is the person  in the waiting room of the LORD

 We   need to learn  how to pray  in all conditions .  1st Thessalonians 5 vs. 17-19 : “ Pray without ceasing.

In every thing  give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Quench not the Spirit”.

While praying, don’t spend more time complaining about what God has not yet done rather, continuously thank God for what he has done.

Do not view the time of waiting as God not responding to your prayer request.   That is the period that you are being spiritually empowered to overcome whatever challenge you want out of your life.

Be specific when asking God for your heart’s desires including children.

Hannah said in 1st Samuel 1 vs. 11  “ And she vowed a vow, and said, O LORD  of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not  forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head”.

The result of her prayer is seen in verses 19 and 20: “ And they rose up in the morning  early, and worshipped before  the LORD, and returned, and came to their house to Ramah: and Elkanah knew Hannah his wife; and the LORD remembered her.

Wherefore it came to pass, when the time was come about after Hannah had conceived, that she bare a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, Because I  have asked him of  the LORD”.

Hannah asked that God should remember her and the LORD remembered her.

She asked for a man-child and God gave her a man-child.

Had she asked for a set of twins, God would have given her Brethren, be specific.  Tell the LORD what you want and God will  give you exactly what you want.If you receive his mercy, you could get more.

Jacob and Rebecca were not specific but because they were united in prayer, God gave them more than they asked for.

I pray for you in the name of Jesus, the LORD will grant your request and give you more than your request.

Your Samuel is on the way in Jesus name.
