Governor Godwin Obaseki’s local government, Oredo Local Government Area, has been won by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Edo State governorship election.

According to the results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday in Benin City, APC’s Senator Monday Okpebholo polled 30,780 votes, while People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) Asue Ighodalo secured 24,938 votes. Labour Party’s Olumide Akpata garnered 5,389 votes.

However, it’s worth noting that the PDP has kicked against the results of 12 local governments, including Oredo, citing irregularities and disruption of the collation process.

The party claims to have won in eight of the contested local governments.
