Ainabe, Shonekan, Idahosa, others bag awards as college marks 30

The Ojomo of Ekpoma and chief executive of Zeek Group of Companies, Chief Ezekiel Ainabe; wife of the former Head of the Interim National Government of Nigeria, Mrs. Margaret Shonekan; the Chancellor of Benson Idahosa University, and Archbishop of the Church of God Mission International, Dr. Margaret Idahosa, have been slated for awards at the 30th anniversary of the Ezekiel College of Theology, Ujoelen-Ekpoma, in Edo State.

The anniversary which will feature a keynote address by the immediate past Governor of Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, is scheduled to hold on Thursday and Friday, September 12 and 13, 2024 at the institution’s auditorium at Ujoelen, Ekpoma in Edo State.

A statement by the Rector of the institution, Dr. Izunna Chijioke Eze, said other beneficiaries of the award include Venerable Professor Benjamin Nkoyen Egede, one of the pioneer staff of the Ezekiel College of Theology, senior Professor and former Dean of the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma;  Sir Uchenna Ogadinma Nlemadim, a Knight of Saint Christopher in the Diocese of Egbu; Chief Emma Ezeala, a nurse practitioner who works and lives in the United States of America, among others.

The Rector said the foundation of the college, which is one of the seven recognised theological colleges of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, was laid in December 1995, as a gratitude to God by the Ojomo of Ekpoma Land, Sir Chief Ezekiel Ainabe.

The college is affiliated to the Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, and runs the Diploma in Theology, Bachelor in Theology, Bachlor of Arts in Religious Studies, and Master in Theology programmes.
