…Gov’s aide congratulates monarch

The ancient kingdom of Aboh, headquarters of Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State South-South Nigeria erupted in jubilation heralding the election by Aboh traditional kingmakers of Dr. Greg Nnamdi Oputa, emerged the new Obi of Aboh Kingdom at the wee hours of Wednesday.
September 12, 2024 putting paid to the crisis that greeted the demise of his predecessor, HRM Obi Imegwu II, who slept with his ancestors earlier in the year.
Congratulating the new Obi of Aboh Kingdom shortly after the declaration by Aboh kingmakers, the Special Adviser to the Delta State Governor, Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, Dr. Tony Amechi, who is the Ajuwa of the kingdom said the emergence of Dr. Oputa is a new dawn in the life of the kingdom, the indigenous people of Aboh Kingdom and the residents in general noting that the process was transparently credible and generally accepted by all.
The epoch making event according to the high ranking Chief in the kingdom speaks volume of the tradition and culture of the people over the decades and the process he said is infallible while he called on well-meaning sons and daughters of the community who may be harboring misgivings arising from the battle for the throne to shield their swords and embrace the new king in their support and solidarity saying, the alchemy that make heroes of mortal men has thrusted upon Dr. Oputa the responsibility of leading the kingdom in the 21st century Nigeria.
“As Dr. Greg Nnamdi Oputa ascends the throne of his forefathers, he’s bringing hope and the promise of a brighter future for the kingdom. This marks the beginning of a new chapter in the rich history of Aboh, a kingdom that has faced numerous challenges, including setbacks and divisions that have caused pains and stagnation.
“The journey to this moment has not been easy, with a prolonged battle for the throne that left deep scars and tensions among the people of Aboh. The process was fraught with struggles and disagreements, resulting in bitterness and divisions that threatened to tear the kingdom apart. However, the emergence of Dr. Oputa as the rightful king brings the long-awaited resolution and the opportunity for healing and unity.
‘Dr. Oputa is a leader who possesses the wisdom, vision, and capacity to lead Aboh to new heights. His reputation as a man of integrity and commitment to progress precedes him, and there is no doubt that under his reign, Aboh will experience a renewed sense of purpose and growth. This is a time to look forward with optimism, to envision a future where the kingdom thrives once again and attain its rightful place in the comity of kingdoms around the world.
“As we embrace this new leadership, it is crucial for every son and daughter of Aboh to put aside past differences and come together in solidarity. The future of Aboh depends on the collective efforts of all its people. Now, more than ever before, it is time to rally around our new king, His Royal Majesty (Dr.) Oputa, and support him wholeheartedly as he embarks on the noble task of rebuilding and advancing the kingdom,” the excited Ajuwa who doubles as the Onwa 1 of Ndemili Utagba-Uno stated, adding: “Let this moment be a call to action, a call for unity, cooperation, and dedication to the progress of Aboh kingdom. Together, with the guidance and leadership of our new monarch, we can heal past wounds and drive Aboh towards prosperity and greatness. We must all stand with King (Dr.) Oputa as he leads Aboh into a new era of peace, unity, growth and development.

Dr. Amechi further enjoined the state government to hasten the process of issuing a staff of office to the His Royal Majesty to kick-start a new era of massive development of the kingdom now that the entire community has chosen their new king.
