Medical Doctor-turned-singer Bimbo Ogundipe is confident that her new single, “Keke” will resonate with fans worldwide. The talented singer may not be one of the wave-making female singers in Nigerian, but definitely, her work sets her apart from other singers.

Only recently, she created a new genre of music known as ‘Afro Asia Rhythm’, which promotes the similarity between Asian rhythm and African rhythm. The genre is also to acknowledge the common transportation system in Asia and Africa.

Ogundipe sees her new song as a tool for children to learn and master their geography as she incorporates other countries, their flags and what they stand for. She also sang the single in Yoruba and some Asian languages.

Being a multi-linguist, Ogundipe said “My music is not just for entertainment, it is a message all over the world to talk about our common transportation system in the developing world.”

The Rickshaw, also known as ‘Keke’ in Nigeria is a common transport system that is a common denominator. Ogundipe is not just an artist, she is a professional physiotherapist who started her practice in 1991.

While working with the Nigerian Sports Commission, she discovered her passion for music and was signed on to Ivory Music (former EMI), where she recorded and released an eight track album titled “Sambro Odo”. The album received accolades round the country.

In 1996, she joined the Nigerian Olympic team in Atlanta and after the competition, she stayed back to further chase her dream. As she returns to the limelight, Ogundipe is all-out to give fans an experience of a lifetime.
