It was a time of deep sober reflection when late Nollywood actor and film producer John Okafor (Mr Ibu) was laid to rest in his hometown of Amuri, Enugu State, on Friday, June 28, 2024.
Mr. Ibu died on March 2, 2024, at the age of 63, in a Lagos hospital, after suffering from diabetes and other health problems.
The burial ceremony, which was attended by high-profile personalities who travelled to Enugu, began at the Toscana Hotel in Enugu, where the Ibu’s corpse was first received by the hotel’s MD, Nollywood actors, and other Ibu friends and partners. Thereafter, the corpse accompanied by actors and other dignitaries was moved to his hometown Amuri, Nkanu West Local Government Area Enugu, where the burial proper was conducted.
Among the dignitaries at the ceremony were his Excellency Mr. Peter Obi, former Presidential Candidate for the Labour Party in the last Presidential Election, Dr. Uzu Onyemaechi Robert, Chairman, Go-Wellness Worldwide Limited, and the CEO Ruzu Group, Nollywood legendary actors and film producers, Prince Emeka Ani, Nkem Owoh aka Osuafia, Mrs. Patience Ozokwo, aka Mama G, Mr. Steve Eboh, aka Ajebo, Dr. Ken Bucknor Ugochukwu, Mr. Prince Ejiamatu, Mr. Charles A.
During the burial ceremony, family, colleagues, and friends paid tribute. In his tribute to the deceased actor, Mr. Peter Obi stated, “Mr. Ibu’s loss was irreplaceable.”
Dr. Uzu, accompanied by his brand ambassadors, Prince Emeka, Mr. Mr. Steve Eboh, and AB Cowboy, consoled the Ibu family and officially presented them with souvenirs courtesy of Go-Wellness Worldwide Limited and Ruzu Group.
In his words, every person who has Mr. Ibu, in his or her heart, tried their best to save his life, but God knows the best. He assured the family that Go-wellness Worldwide and Ruzu Group will continue to support the family.
His Excellency Mr. Peter Obi, who is aware that Nollywood actor Prince Emeka Ani has struggled with diabetes and other health issues for more than ten years, was taken aback by the actor’s robust and well-groomed appearance. He interacted with him and Dr. Uzu. Prince Emeka Ani asked His Excellency to thank Dr. Uzu because God used his herbal medicines to save his life. Mr. Obi appreciated Dr. Uzu for what he has been doing in the life of Nollywood actors and prayed that God will continue to bless his service to humanity.

If you recall, Dr. Uzu Onyemaechi Robert partnered with Actor Guild of Nigeria (AGN) to treat all the registered Nollywood actors free, and many of them have benefited from this partnership. His products like Ruzu Herbal Bitters, Ruzu Herbal Tea, Ruzu Black for Men, Ruzu Herbal Balm, and many others have really helped Nigeria in managing their health.

Dr. Ruzu officially presents the occasion’s official drink, Kamkpe Herbal Drink, to legendary Nollywood actors Nkem Owoh aka Osuafia, Patience Ozokwor aka Mama G, Mr Charles Inoje, Mr. Victor Osuagu, Mr. Charles Awurum, and others. Mr. Nkem Owoh expressed gratitude to Dr. Uzu on behalf of the Nollywood actors, who all enjoyed the Kamkpe Herbal Drink.
