Guided by the principles of Baron Pierre de Coubertin, the founder of the modern Olympic movement, the Paris 2024 Olympics emphasize the development of physical and mental qualities, the promotion of mutual understanding and friendship, and the creation of a more peaceful world through sport. This year’s slogan, “Games Wide Open,” embodies the spirit of inclusivity and global unity that defines the Paris 2024 Games.

During a media chat, Dr. Aluya highlighted the importance of the 2024 Olympics as a platform for promoting gender equality, sustainability, and legacy. He urged all athletes to give their best, emphasizing the role of sports in fostering global peace and unity.

For Nigerian athletes, Dr. Aluya delivered a special message of encouragement, urging them to inspire over two hundred million Nigerians. He emphasized the significance of their participation in providing hope and pride, especially during a time of economic hardship in the country. He believes that successful performances by Nigerian athletes can uplift the nation’s spirit and bring a sense of unity and pride.

Dr. Aluya remarked, “The Olympics, with its diverse range of sports, serves as a unifying event for Nigerians. It presents an opportunity for us to rally together, celebrate our collective achievements on the global stage, and counteract the negative narratives that often surround our nation.”

As President of NAPAC-USA, Dr. Aluya has been instrumental in promoting a positive image of Nigerians in the diaspora, particularly in the areas of politics and healthcare. He actively campaigns against negative behaviors such as hate speech on social media and political violence, and he advocates for climate change awareness.
