Makarfi receives NNPP decampees

What PDP must do to win in 2023 — Makarfi

…Says Difference’s clear between PDP & APC

…Only PDP Can Rescue Nigeria- NNPP Chieftains

…As Sarki Vows to Halt Gov Sani in 2027

By Ibrahim Hassan-Wuyo

Few days after 3 Chieftains of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State decamped to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC),senior executives  of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) have declared willingness to  join the PDP in Kaduna State.

The decampees said they had series of meetings with a National Leader of the PDP and former Governor, Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, and were convinced that the PDP’s  now the party with the solution to the myriad of problems stifling growth and development in Nigeria.

The Kaduna State Chairman of the NNPP, Alhaji Akilu Yahaya Kabo, State Secretary, Philip Ladan, other state executive and their supporters said they’ve concluded plans to join the PDP.

Senator Makarfi who spoke to the NNPP officials in Kaduna at the weekend, said Nigerians are seeing the difference between the PDP and the All Progressives Congress (APC) based on welfare of citizens, governance and the economy of the country.

Senator Makarfi who is also the Secretary of the PDP Board of Trustees, said they are  welcome to the PDP and each official with their supporters should go and register to be members of the party in their local wards, adding that when arrangements are concluded, they would be welcome officially to be party at a colourful ceremony.

The NNPP Kaduna State Secretary, Philip Ladan said that they decided to dump the NNPP because it lacked the vision and capacity to rescue Nigeria from the present harsh economic realities, adding that in view of that, all the state executive of the NNPP, local government exco and their supporters have decided to be in the PDP.

Aspirant Vows to stop Gov Uba Sani’s 2nd Term Bid

Meanwhile, a Kaduna State chairmanship aspirant for the PDP, Danjuma Bello Sarki, has vowed to stop Governor Uba Sani’s second term bid in 2027.

He said he would block and burst the alleged rigging formula of the ruling APC, in the 2027 gubernatorial election in the state.

At a meeting with the youth wing of PDP in Kaduna as part of his campaign flag-off, Sarki said if he’s elected Chairman of PDP in Kaduna State, Governor Uba Sani would not return to the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House in 2027.

“I want to assure the party’s members that my chairmanship will bring about unity and a breath of fresh ideas that will block all loopholes for rigging by other political parties.”

“When I win the chairmanship position, nobody will be able to rig us out the way they did in 2019 and 2023. I am ready to lead the battle come 2027 when I become chairman of the PDP. I want to say that it hurts to see some of our leaders and members defecting to APC.”

“And that is one of the things I am coming to correct because I am a unifier. One of the reasons they left the party was due to a lack of unity. I will be able to lead and unify the party so that all aggrieved members will be reconciled once I’m elected.”

“We will harmonise whatever interests we have so that the party will be the winner of all parties. I am a bridge builder, between the old and the young members, between the North and the South as well as the Central zones of the State. I will build confidence in all members for them to realise that the party is above individual interests so that we can work together and achieve our goals.”

“We’ll provide an alternative opportunity for people to see that the PDP remains the best party that has the mind of the people of Kaduna State and Nigeria. The PDP is a democratic party that encourages youths to be active, hence my decision to join the race after due consultation.”

“PDP and people of Kaduna State will not be disappointed if elected into office. I will lead them to their polling units, wards, and local government areas and mobilise people en masse to cast their votes for the governorship candidate and up to the National Assembly candidates as well as the presidential candidate,” Sarki assured.
