Chief Pius Anyim Pius, the former Senate President and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, yesterday dumped the People Democratic party and formally joined the ruling All Progressive Congress APC.

Others who decamped to APC include a chieftain of the Labour Party in Ebonyi State, Architect Edward Nwkegu,

They announced their defection at the Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium in Abakaliki during APC mega rally in the State. They decamped with their supporters.

Presenting their resolution on behalf of the PDP and Labour Party, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim and Edward Nwkegu, called on all Ebonyi people to continue to support the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahamed Tinubu and Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru.

“Today is remarkable in the government of Ebonyi State. Today, we are back together. It is so saddening, but it is not about me, but about the people of Ebonyi State. We consulted and made resolutions before this defection.

“We call on all Ebonyi people to support Mr. President as he navigates the nation through these trying times.

“The people of Ebonyi have resolved to support the Government of Mr. President and Minister of Works to upscale the administration of Bola Tinubu. We appeal to all Nigerians to rally around Mr. President”, Anyim said.
