The coordinator of the COPESA Sustainable Development Goals 2024-2030 initiatives, Mr. Olufemi Oladejo, has said the initiative is fashioned to bring hope and impact the poorest African communities, with a focus on mothers and children.

Fielding questions from newsmen in Lagos, Oladejo, while commending non-profit organizations represented at the event, said, “The COPESA SDGs 2030 Initiatives aim to bring hope to Africa’s poorest communities, focusing on mothers and children’s survival. We will facilitate record-breaking dissemination sessions, open dialogues, partnerships, and collaborations on sustainable development localization. Our efforts will focus particularly on mothers, widows, and girl children’s survival in Africa and the diaspora.

We will implement sustainable activities centered on health, education, agriculture, gender equality, peaceful coexistence, and the importance of global partnerships for SDG localization and achievements in Africa.

“Our projects will be supported by both local and global stakeholders, ensuring comprehensive participation. We strive to empower those we serve, helping them rise out of poverty and become role models. Our vision is to see an empowered, peaceful, and advanced African continent unified by visible actions for sustainable development, supported by global stakeholders dedicated to mothers, widows, and children’s survival, including individuals with disabilities.”.

On his part, the Alumni of the Tony Elumelu Foundation, Mr. Clinton Chizoba, while urging NGOs to seek ideas, talents, and funding, said, “The Tony Elumelu Foundation can be of help to grassroots women and youths once they apply. You may be good at barbing, soup making, or fashion design; you can apply for it and get a capital grant of $5000 that is non-refundable.

“These are opportunities for all, and I can help tutor you on that. It is not only the Tony Elumelu Foundation; we also have other good foundations that fund small-scale businesses; by these we look forward to impacting and transforming our communities.”
