The Annual Camp Meeting of the Men’s Missionary Union (MMU) of the Providence Delta Baptist Conference (PDBC) of the Nigerian Baptist Convention (NBC) opened Friday in Effurun, Delta State with participants focused on renewal of commitment to kingdom mission.

Holding at the Ufuoma Baptist Church, Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area, the gathering, drawing participants from the MMU of all Baptist Associations under PDBC is themed, Wonders Without Numbers with Bible reference Job 9:10.

Welcoming participants to the Day One Proceedings, Dcn M O Utake, MMU Chairman PDBC, told them, “Our joy is complete because in spite of the terrible economic situation and hardship, God still takes care of us throughout year 2023 to running 2024.”

He appreciated the men for impressive “response to the call to support Good Shepherd Baptist Church, Otu-Jeremi when they were returning from Convention in April and involved in an accident and someone died. Financial support has risen to N1,750,000.”

In his talking points on the event’s theme, Camp Pastor, Rev William Eruotor, urged participants to emulate the perseverance, faith and confidence in God demonstrated by Biblical Job, so they, like job, are assured of wonders without numbers the servant of God enjoyed.

In a motivational presentation on MMU: Platform For Discipleship and Apostleship, with Text from Mark 3:14-15, Resource Person, Dr Kevin Idehen, charged MMU to, “Spiritually spearhead discipleship and apostleship activities in their homes, families, church, Associations, Conferences, Africa and beyond in the mission statement of Preaching, Praise, Possession and Purpose.

“Perhaps the most important thing is for individual MMU members to model true disciple and apostolic character and power in our daily life in the communities and market places.”

The Camp Meeting enters Day 2 Saturday into the Business Session that will feature presentation on Investment and Entrepreneurship, question and answers, praises and a word from Conference President, Rev N D D Thikan.
