“Let me emphasize on the zero-tolerance stance of the Police Command towards criminal activities particularly thuggery (Daba) which have not only posed a threat to the security and safety of the affected communities where lives and properties were lost and caused injuries to innocent citizens, but also affecting the overall development of the State. Consequently, the crime pattern was carefully studied, and robust security measures have been employed to address the root causes of this violence and promote peace and harmony in the affected areas and the State at large.
“You will also recall that during the CP’s maiden media briefing, he made it categorically clear that he can not sit in the office and allow thugs (Yan Daba) to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere being enjoyed in the State. Also, effort is in progress in identifying and arresting the perpetrators of these criminal activities to face the full wrath of the law. It’s in fulfillment of these promises that the CP led targeted operations to the identified trouble spots within the affected areas during which a total of one hundred and forty-nine (149) suspects were arrested, out of which one hundred and six (106) are thugs and forty-three (43) for other major crimes and recovery of arms, dangerous weapons, large quantity of illicit drugs, motor vehicles, tricycles, motorcycles, etc,” he however stated.
