…Inaugurates Kwale Gas Gathering Facility

THE Federal Government, Thursday, said it was focused on creating a resilient and sustainable energy future for the country.

Minister of State, Petroleum Resources, Gas, Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo stated this at Kwale, Delta State during the Joint Commissioning Ceremony of the Nedogas plant and 300 MMscfd Kwale Gas Gathering, KGG, Facility.

He said the Ministry of Petroleum Resources – Gas was dedicated to helping programs that improve local content, promote investments, develop capacity, and give Nigerians opportunity.

He lauded the collaboration between Nedogas Limited and the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) which he said represent a significant advancement in the country’s efforts to promote sustainability, energy efficiency, and economic expansion.

Ekpo said: “As a result of creative engineering, forward-thinking planning, and joint public-private sector efforts, the Nedogas Plant and the Kwale Gas Gathering Facility have been put into operation.

“It emphasizes how dedicated the federal government is to increasing gas usage, broadening our energy sources, and lessening our influence on the environment.

“In addition to being essentially infrastructural developments, the Kwale Gas Gathering Facility and the Nedogas Plant mark a dramatic improvement in our country’s capacity to extract and use natural gas resources properly.

“We will be able to process natural gas more efficiently at the Nedogas Plant, which will increase both our domestic supply and export potential.

“This establishment promises to significantly boost our economy by generating jobs, fostering industrial expansion, and ensuring energy security. It is a symbol of advancement.”

In his remarks, the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori said the projects would benefit Nigerians, particularly Deltans in legion ways.

Represented by his deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, the Governor said: No doubt, these projects will lead to the creation of a lot of direct and indirect job opportunities, too, thereby, boosting the economy of our state.

“I call for the replication of this project in other parts of our state where gas flaring is taking place to reduce its effects on our people.

In his remarks, Chairman/CEO Napogas Development Company Limited, Mr. Emeka Ene said: “The KGG Facility, with its impressive capacity of 300 million standard cubic fees per day (MMsei), is a testament to what can be achieved when innovation, determination, and strategic partnerships converge.

“Located in the Umusam Community near Kwale in Delta State, this facility is designed to address one of the most pressing challenges in our energy sector stranded gas resources. By providing infrastructure for gas gathering, compression, injection, and metering, we are unlocking the potential of natural gas fields in the OML36 oil province and offering independent operators a viable pathway to market
