Edo Guber: APC promises autonomy to local government areas

Deputy Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Dennis Idahosa has said that if elected, the administration of Senator Monday Okpebholo would grant full autonomy to local councils.

Idahosa made this promise while speaking to APC members in Ward 5 and Ward 6, Egor Local Government Area, as he joined the council leaders of the party in their governorship campaign mobilization visits.

The member representing Ovia Federal Constituency, deplored the alleged use of local council funds for governorship campaign and other purposes by the peoples Democratic Party, PDP-led Edo State Government adding that such situation denies the councils the ability to meet their obligations to the people.

He promised that the APC government “shall establish one functional health centre in every ward of the state” and institute universal health insurance to enable low income earners pay for medical services during medical emergencies.

According to him, their administration would harness the gas potential of the state to provide stable and affordable electricity, unlike the kind promoted by the PDP, which he said is only for the rich.

The APC running mate promised the creation of jobs through partnership with foreign investors and creating the enabling environment for investment.
