The Senator representing Ondo Central in the National Assembly, Adeniyi Adegbonmire, SAN, has clarified that he has sponsored three bills and facilitated  Federal job opportunities within one year of his election.

Adegbomire, said in a statement made available to newsmen in Akure that this was contrary to a report that he has not sponsored any bill in one year.

According to him the three bills he sponsored bother on the development of his constituency and had gone through first reading at the senate.

The bills include the establishment of Federal University of Agriculture, Akure Ondo State; a Bill for the establishment of Federal University Akure Teaching Hospital as well as a Bill for the establishment Federal University of Art,Culture, Science and Tourism, Igbara Oke, Ifedore LGA.

Speaking through his Senior Legislative Aide, (SLA), Hon. Bolarinde Akinloye, Adegbonmire who is the Chairman Senate Committee on Agriculture Colleges and Institutions as well as the Vice Chairman Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters, said that he had also impacted on his constituents through various projects and lobbying for federal employment opportunities for young graduates from Ondo Central senatorial district.

Other achievements of the Senator, according to Akinloye include influencing the dualization of Akure- Ondo- Ore Highway into the 2024 National Budget which was signed into law by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

” Facilitating of employment of indigenes of Ondo Central into federal government jobs which include Nigerian Police Force, Army, Fire Services.

“Donation of Multi Million Naira Digital Library to NBA Akure Branch, donation of funds for the procurement of transformer for Bagbe Community, Ondo West LGA and several other Communities in Ondo Central Senatorial District.

Others include the grading and Maintenance of 30km Oke Iya Community Road along Ijoka Akure South LGA which has long been abandoned by past governments there by bringing untold hardships to landlords and residents of the area, grading and Maintenance of Abo -Oluwa Ijigba 2 Community Road in Akure South LGA and the grading and Maintenance of old board road, Oda Community in Akure South LGA.

Akinloye added that the lawmakers has equally renovated the LA Primary School Erinla, Ondo West LGA, Procured  UTME/JAMB Forms for over 300 students with scholarships for two best performing students (male and female) in each of the six LGAs, distributed fertilizer to Farmers Association in Ondo State as part of activities to boost agricultural production and food sufficiency.

Others include ” distribution of 600 bags of Federal Government palliative rice which was facilitated by him to residents across his constituency which include interest groups, Christian and Muslim Communities to cushion the effects of the subsidy removal and payment of tuition fees for Law graduates into Nigerian Law Schools.

Adegbomire, is a member 43 Adhoc Committee to conduct a comprehensive review of the 1999 constitution and the Chairman Senate Committee to probe the activities of the moribund Ajaokuta Steel Company Ltd.
