Why I adopted ‘Hush My Baby’ as my NGO’s anthem – David Coast

David Coast, an Afrofusion artist hailing from Nigeria and based in Dallas, Texas, has taken a significant step in his philanthropic journey by adopting his soulful track, “Hush My Baby,” as the anthem of his NGO.

Known for his passionate commitment to community development, David’s decision reflects his deep-rooted desire to make a positive impact both locally and in his country of origin.

“As an Afrobeats artist from Nigeria, my volunteer and fundraising objectives include supporting local communities through music education programs, organizing benefit concerts for causes like education or healthcare access, and collaborating with NGOs on initiatives that promote social development and cultural preservation,” David shared. “Additionally, we aim to raise funds for projects that empower young musicians and creatives in Nigeria through mentorship and resource provision.”

Expressing his excitement about upcoming volunteering endeavors, David highlighted his involvement in events like the DMS 36th annual Golf Charity event, where the focus is on raising funds for children’s charities. He also spearheaded a food drive to assist the homeless in his community, showcasing his commitment to making a tangible difference in people’s lives.

Regarding the adoption of “Hush My Baby” as the theme song for his NGO, David explained, “It’s a track with a narrative intent, offering comfort during tough times. The message it carries was a personal necessity when I wrote it, but I also recognized its potential to resonate with others facing challenges.”

David emphasized the significance of “Hush My Baby” as both a song and an anthem for those facing adversity. “Music holds immense power to bring joy and illumination into people’s lives,” he said. “A dedicated song for children in need not only acknowledges their struggles but also provides them with support and validation.”

Exploring the deeper meaning behind the song’s lyrics, David shared insights into his personal struggles and experiences. “The verses reflect on past struggles and the desire to overcome them, with a longing for stability and support,” he elaborated. “Coming from a poor background, I felt strong emotions born out of lack at a young age. ‘Hush My Baby’ is a reflection of those experiences and a testament to the resilience of the human spirit.”

With “Hush My Baby” at the forefront of his NGO’s initiatives, David Coast is poised to continue making a meaningful difference in the lives of underprivileged children. Through his music and philanthropy, he strives to inspire and empower the younger generation, offering them hope and encouragement in the face of adversity.
