ABUJA. – Ernest Ezeajughi, the newly-appointed Chief of Staff to Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Soludo, has called on his kinsmen to de-escalate internal strife and embrace unity to make progress.
Ezeajughi made this call during a grand reception hosted in his honour by the Awgbu Progress Union (APU) recently.
The event was attended by dignitaries from across the state and beyond, including the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, who led members of the state executive council to the event, representing the governor.
Other notable attendees included the Principal Secretary to the Governor, JPC Anaeto; the Vice-Chancellor of Anambra State University, Professor Kate Omenugha; and the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State, Nnaghe Itam.
The event also saw the presence of Anambra State Association of Town Unions, led by its president, Barr. Titus Akpudo; members of the Anambra Traders Association, and other esteemed guests.
In his remarks, Ezeajughi who had previously served as the Mayor of the London Borough of Brent, expressed gratitude to the community for their unwavering support and pledged to continue serving the state with dedication and excellence.
“Let’s put aside our internal differences and work towards a common goal.
“Unity is key to progress, and we must embrace it to move our community forward.
“We must come together and support one another to achieve greatness.
“I am proud to be a son of Awgbu, and I will always work towards the progress and development of our community,” he said.
The event featured traditional music, dance, and nkwu enu from Awgbu, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the community.
The Igwe Cabinet and the President General of Awgbu, Emmanuel Ugochukwu Akidi, played host to the dignitaries and community members who gathered to celebrate Ezeajughi’s achievement.
The reception underscored the community’s pride in their son and their commitment to celebrating achievements that bring honour to Awgbu and Anambra State.
