Actress Judith Iwu has weighed in over the beef between her Nollywood colleagues Angela Okorie and Mercy Johnson-Okojie, describing it as unnecessary and in bad taste.
Mercy Johnson-Okojie had trended after Okorie, and Mercy’s childhood friend Ify accused the actress of witchcraft over the weekend, urging her to present herself before the Actors Guild of Nigeria to verify the claims.

The star actress was also the butt of controversy after allegations of having a reputation for being difficult and unprofessional at work, by Yvonne Jegede, another colleague emerged. A statement that threw fans and Nollywood lovers into a frenzy.
In an interview with BlueFlames Media, Iwu described the feud among the actresses as gross and pointless.
According to the Oga Madam star, Mercy is not just a senior colleague, but also a sweet soul she has known for a long time. Describing Okorie as a “legit queen” in her own right, Iwu, who hails from Imo State, wondered why Okorie would descend so low, pointing out that the development portrays Nollywood in bad light.

“The fight between Mercy Johnson and Angela Okorie is highly distasteful and unnecessary. Mercy is a senior colleague that I have known and worked with; she’s a sweet soul and a very talented actress,” Iwu stated.
Calling on Nollywood practitioners to work together and be good role models, the thespian admitted that the industry comprises people of different talents from all walks of life, hence there must always be rivalry and unhealthy competition. Even blood sisters quarrel, she added, stressing that Nollywood is no exception.
Iwu, who won accolades for her role in Priceless Woman, observed that some diabolical people had come into Nollywood with the intent to inflict damage, and solicited prayers for the practitioners. According to her, the recent deaths in the movie industry had made Nigerians very emotional, hence ‘they can do and undo.”
Iwu also opened up on her dream to work someday soon alongside Hollywood A-listers like Brad Pitt, Vin Diesel, Idris Elba and Terrence Howard, saying they take her breath away with their sterling performances on screen.
Currently on location, the actress urged her fans to keep faith with her as she revealed she was working on a new project, a movie that would blow them away once it airs.
Iwu is known for her great performances in her movies and gained prominence with her role in House of Trouble, following up with the likes of Nicest Gift to Men and Typhoid Typhoid and Malaria. She recently capped these with the award of an International Media Personality Certificate for “her outstanding qualities as a role model to millions around the world.” The award was given by the John Terrence Media Ltd in partnership with the International Kingdom University, in United States of America.
