The Federal High Court sitting in Kano and presided over by Justice A. M. Liman, has on Thursday, granted the National Chairman, All Progressive Congress, APC, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje an order to serve his Ganduje ward leaders behind his purported suspension through substituted means.

The applicant, Ganduje had approached the Court, through his counsel, Bar. Hadiza Nasir Ahmed, seeking the enforcement of his fundamental rights to fair hearing and freedom of association, pursuant to the Enforcement and Procedure Rules, 2009 as subsumed under Section 46 of the Constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 as amended.

When the matter came up on Thursday, the counsel to the applicant, Bar. Hadiza Nasir Ahmed informed the court that they could not serve the respondents personally.

She, however, sought for service through a substituted means.

Justice Liman granted the order and adjourned the matter till 28 May, 2024 for hearing of the substantive application.

The respondents in the suit include; Basiru Nuhu Isah and 25 Others.

Other parties joined as respondents are; Nigeria Police Force, Commissioner of Police, Kano Command, Inspector General of Police and Department of State Security Service.

Recall that some factional ward leaders had some weeks back announced the purported suspension of Ganduje as National Chairman of the party.
