There are just about two big names in the tower outsourcing business in the country now; but that hegemony is about to be broken as an indigenous technology company, Heirs Technologies, has come up with strategic plans to wrench the leadership out of their hands.

Regarding itself as a digital transformation solutions company, Heirs says its major focus is to drive Africa’s digital transformation through innovative and locally tailored solutions.

The company said that through its core business areas – IT Consulting, Managed Services, and Business Process Outsourcing, it will generate both economic prosperity and social wealth that will see foreign investors scrambling to have footholds in Nigeria.

Chief Executive Officer of the company, Obong Idiong, believe that the abundant opportunities in Africa and the vigour with which the continent desires to be at the forefront of technological advancements is enough tonic to keep his company in business and more especially, challenge the status-quo in the areas of its business operations.

He said: “We want to attract investments from in and outside Africa. We want to deliver world-class expertise with local accessibility”.

Corroborating him, the Executive Director, Heirs Technologies, Anant Rao, said the company’s expertise and infrastructure, have positioned it better to compete with major players in the sector.

“Let me note, first, that Africa is the next frontier for outsourcing; the country is well-positioned for it, with a large population, tech-savvy, and capable workforce.

“Second, we see ourselves as part of the big boys that will plug into that readiness. We have all the necessary experiences to thrive. We implement state-of-the-art standards and global best practices. We want to create a technology hub that will serve the whole of Africa.

“In terms of capacity,we are going to train a lot of youths who are going to work in our different areas of business. These people will interact with our global partners and be able to gain global experience which is the whole essence of tech transfer.

“So we have all it takes to fight the big boys who have been in this business long before us. Besides, there are a lot of gaps in the sector which provides a lot of opportunities for us to plug into. We will also build partnerships and do a lot of collaborations to be able to break into the big league.

“Our plan is to be the vehicle to drive down global companies who have global products to localise it so it can solve local problems” he added.

On her part, Chairperson of the company, Dr Fumbi Chima, also echoed the sentiments. She however, highlighted the company’s dedication to creating growth within and outside Nigeria, saying: “The future is about employment, the future is our youth. We have amazing opportunities within Nigeria and the African continent to help us create disruption. I am really looking forward to these opportunities as an organisation and as a continent to be one of the disruptive, ambitious growth companies over the next three to five years”.
