He lives for you to overcome, by Funmi Komolafe

Christmas

Christ is risen! It is the reason; we can boldly say Jesus is alive!

All that he went through, persecution, His Blood shed on the cross of Calvary is the reason we plead the precious blood of Jesus.

It is what gives us the assurance that we are overcomers.

Brethren, this is why we often say, “ What Christ has finished cannot finish us”.

Jesus went through pains for you and I to be saved.  He paid the supreme price for the Salvation of our souls.

Therefore, as believers, we must always appreciate this great sacrifice and give thanks to God at all times.

The Easter season should remind us that Christ has already borne our burden.

However, we must realize that even as many of us are celebrating, there are people that are overwhelmed with challenges.

Some people are not rejoicing due to reasons of stagnation in social status, marital life, sickness, indebtedness etc.

We have a duty to cheer them up.    We need to let them know that Jesus lives.

A popular song says, “Because He lives, I can face tomorrow, because He lives all fear is gone” etc.

Let’s encourage the couples that haven’t been able to produce biological children that they would overcome.

Perhaps, doctors have told you that the eggs that your body produce are weak or that the sperm count is too low to fertilize your wife.

That is the verdict of medical science but our God created the eggs, created the sperm count, therefore, the Lord can change the situation.

Brethren, your reproductive organs might have been pronounced ‘dead’ but the power of God can bring it to life.

Romans 8 vs. 11 ( KJV): “ But if the Spirit of him  that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you,  he that raised up Christ  from the dead shall also quicken  your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwells in you”.

In other words, that womb that has been pronounced  dead like Sarah’s can still produce multiple babies.  The power of resurrection in Christ can make it happen.

Lazarus a friend of the Lord Jesus had died and mourners had gathered to comfort  his siblings.

Jesus was informed and he paid a visit to the family.

Let’s see the dialogue of Jesus and Martha as recorded in John 11 vs. 21&22: “ Then Martha said unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.

But I know, that even now, whatsoever  thou wilt ask of God , God will give it thee”.

Though she confessed to the healing power of Jesus, she was unsure of what Jesus would do but she knew that the Father would never deny the Son whatever he asks.

Brethren, what  have you asked of the LORD?  Do you believe that if you ask in the name of Jesus, it would be done?

When the Lord said to Martha in verse 23 “ Thy brother shall rise again”.  Martha didn’t know that Jesus meant that Lazarus would come back to life.   She thought he meant on the resurrection but the LORD said to her in verse 25  “…. I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth  in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:”.

As  a Christian, you  are familiar with the story .

Verses  41-44 conclude the story. “ Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.

And I knew that thou  hearest  me always: but because of the people which stand by  I said it, that they may believe  that thou hast sent me.

And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus , come forth.

And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin, Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go”.

Lazarus that had been dead for four days, came back to life.

Brethren, whatever challenge  you are experiencing  now, is  a stone that has stopped you from making progress.

The good news for you is that the power of the Most High God is available to  remove that stone.

Play your part, cling on to Jesus.  He that lives,  is the life and the resurrection.

With the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus, whatever you experience as a challenge has an expiry date.

Blocked fallopian tubes, low-quality sperm,  or whatever you have  has been diagnosed as the cause of infertility will give way once the power of God comes in.

1st Corinthians 6 vs. 14 affirms this . “ And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also  raise up us by his power”.

NIV version puts it this way: “ By his power God raised  the Lord from the dead,  and he will raise us also”.

People may see your situation as a closed case but God is able to  raise you up in the mighty name of Jesus.

That womb that is called barren, the count that has be pronounced low will produce multiple babies once the power of God comes in.

Brethren, most challenges are the works of evil- minded people working with the forces of darkness.

Who are the forces of darkness?.  They are the agents of the devil that take delight in  the pains of other human beings.

But the Bible tells us  in Philippians 2 vs. 9&10: “ Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name.

That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth”.

The name of Jesus is above barrenness, it is above any form of stagnation.  It brings life into any dead situation. Yours   isn’t an exception.

Shift your focus away from negative medical reports.  You are not a creation of medical science.  The Almighty God that made dust to become a living being created you.

That same God lives.   He is not dead.  He lives that you may have  life.

Jesus confirmed this in John 10 vs.  9&10 : “ I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

The thief cometh not, but to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly”.

Barrenness is like a thief that is sent to deny you the joy of motherhood but Jesus is alive to give you the joy of motherhood.

Many that were called barren are now being called mother of twins because they received the power of resurrection.

No surprise we are told in Revelations 12 vs. 11: “ And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb,  and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death”.

This is an assurance that with Christ  on your side and you on the side of Christ, you will overcome that challenge in Jesus name.

Kick fear out of your life.

2nd Timothy1 vs. 7 : “ For God hath not given us  the spirit of  fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind”.

If you heart is filled with the love of Christ, there would be no place for fear.

Fear is of the devil.  It  is the weapon that he uses  to keep you stagnant.

May the Lord help you to overcome the spirit of fear in Jesus name.

Christ is Risen for you and I. Our LORD lives forever.
