Osun First Lady, Erelu Ngozi Adeleke has been honoured with a Distinguished Iconic Lioness Award 2024, by the Osun State Chapter of the University of Nigeria Alumni Association.

The award ceremony held on Tuesday,  March 5, in Osogbo, the State capital, was in recognition of her selfless service to humanity and making impacts towards the progress of Osun State. The event, graced by distinguished alumni, scholars, royal fathers and leaders was also to celebrate and recognise outstanding individuals.

In her acceptance speech,  Erelu Ngozi Adeleke said, “Earlier today, I received a ‘Distinguished Iconic Lioness Award’ during the 9th State Convention and Award ceremony 2024 organised by the Osun State Chapter of the University of Nigeria Alumni Association. In addition to this recognition, my husband, His Excellency, Senator (Dr) Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, was also bestowed with the Award of Excellence at the same ceremony.

“This dual acknowledgment is a demonstration of our shared commitment to excellence and service to the good people of Osun State. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the University of Nigeria Alumni Association, Osun State Chapter, for this prestigious recognition. We are inspired to continue our efforts towards positive impact and progress of Osun State,” she added.

Erelu Ngozi Abeni Adeleke who has been towering on a progressive impacts in Osun State, through her foundation, Esther Adeleke Humanitarian Foundation, early on March 1, donated cash, baby items and toiletries to support three women in the State who gave birth to set of twins each.

The beneficiaries,  Mrs. Gbadamasi Aminat, Mrs. Aderinto Omolara and Mrs. Hussein Balikis, all of whom gave birth at Uniosun Teaching Hospital, Osogbo on March 1, were congratulated and rewarded with gifts as a mark of ushering the new month with good news.
